Three days ago Kaitlyn turned 6 months old. Today, she is leaving for college.

That might not be entirely true, but the rate that time goes with a second child is mindboggling. You didn’t think I’d do an update post without professing my bittersweet sentiments about the time passing, right?

And while she may not be leaving for college, moves like this make me feel like she is still growing entirely too quickly.

When this happened yesterday, I was hoping for a singular occurrence, but as I type, the girl is pulling up to standing on any prop she can find.

In other ways though, she is still very much my baby (yes, I know she IS a baby).

She loves putting everything in her mouth and drool-soaked, open-mouthed kisses (which are totally disgusting until it’s your child, then it’s pure magic).

She loves her mama and wants to be everywhere I am. I’ll put her down and just walk around the corner and she’ll burst into tears and army crawl like a crazy baby after me. It’s simultaneously the sweetest and saddest thing I’ve ever seen.

But really, girlfriend wants to be with me all the time. And I won’t pretend I don’t love it.

Her 6 month check up isn’t until Friday, but Kaitlyn is a little thing. I think she is just over 13 lbs, but is still decently long (26 inches – ish). I am nursing her 5 times a day (6:30am, 9:30am, 12pm, 3pm and 6pm – all “ish” of course) and we have started solids!

HA! Despite this particular face, it’s been a lot of messy fun. I am working on a comprehensive post to share our experience thus far.

Let’s see… what else?

She;s gotten better with the bottle and I try to give her one at least every other day.

Her schedule changes daily, but somehow it’s working for us. The only constants are bath starting at 6:30 and in bed asleep by 7:10. She usually naps around 1:15ish, either for 45 minutes or 1.5 hours.

She wakes up at 6:30 most days.

She wear size 2 diapers and 6-9 month clothing.

She’s had a few days of teething symptoms and I sometimes catch her sucking her thumb.

She loves her sister. A lot. They love each other actually and every ounce of my being hopes they’ll stay close.

She is generally a very happy baby, only crying when she is overtired or I’ve confined her to a carseat. She really detests being forced to stay in one place.

She pops up to all fours all the time, but her crawl remains army style (I posted a video on my instagram).

She giggles when you tickle her side or kiss on her neck.

Her laugh sounds somewhat like a ahhhhaghhhh.

She squenches up her whole face when she smiles big.

She makes my heart so full.
