What a whirlwind! We are finally home after our wonderful trip down to Destin. Yesterday was a long day in the car, but the fun we had visiting David’s parents was worth it.
Despite being sick for a day or two, we managed to cram in all sorts of fun! Including kayaking
a wild night out on the harbor with my handsome hubby
a first-ever trip to the beach
to put our toes in the water
a fun St Patrick’s Day outing to McGuire’s and making friends with the Irish singer
And plenty of quality family time, too!
Sunday morning Hailey was baptized. It was such a sweet event and she looked darling in her gown and golden cross with a pearl from Mema’s wedding dress sewn on it.
After church, we hit the road. The ride went pretty smoothly, and it helped having Koda in the backseat to entertain Hailey. We arrived home just before 10pm, and may I say that it’s totally worth cleaning your house before leaving on vacay. Coming home to everything being spic’n’span just makes me feel so much more relaxed. Now if only that mountain of laundry would take care of itself!
Today I hope to get the house back in order, the laundry done and food stocked….and take Hailey to her SIX MONTH doctor appointment. One good thing about a long drive home is that there is plenty of time to write a grocery list Here’s what I have in store for the week…
Monday Tempeh and Vegetable Curry Stir-fry
Tuesday Quinoa Mac ‘n Cheese and Roasted Vegetables
Wednesday Homemade Vegetable Pizza
Thursday Fish, Sweet Potatoes and Broccoli
Friday Barbeque Bean Burgers
Have you planned your weekly meals yet?

I’m so glad y’all had fun in Destin. The Boathouse and McGuire’s are local favorites, so I’m happy y’all were able to experience them. Jason took me to the Boathouse on our first date 🙂

I wish we could have met y’all there! When David and I were first dating (2003) we went to Destin and he took me to the Boathouse, too! It was David’s favorite, but I guess the new singer guy isn’t as great as the old one was. Still, we had a blast. Next time we will have to grab a drink there all together!

Awww it looks like you had a great time, despite being sick! What did Hailey think of the water??
Brittany says
She did not like it when it rushed up and covered her feet! It was pretty cold, so I don’t blame her. She loved the pool though!
