This weekend was lovely (apparently this morning I woke up with a British accent?)
It was relaxing and productive, all rolled into one. Let’s take a look at some of the highs and lows…
HIGH
A plentiful CSA share, full of a variety of squash, green cucumbers, white cucumbers, tomatoes, green beans, potatoes and a pepper.
LOW
Not actually knowing what to do with these funny shaped squash. To be continued…
HIGH
The storms holding off long enough to enjoy a nice afternoon on a new lake (Lake Hickory) on a friend’s boat.
LOW
Getting home right before the severe storm forced water through our back deck doors…
HIGH
A happy vizsla pup that got to swim around and eat hotdog buns that were meant for fish.
LOW
Having to compete with said fish.
HIGH
Finding a yummy-sounding sandwich to try out for lunch.
LOW
Realizing that above sandwich was actually rather flavorless and with the hot weather, wished I’d decided on one of these for lunch instead:
What was the high (or low) from your weekend?
Samantha @ Health, Happiness & Skinny Jeans says

So sad to hear about the sandwich being flavorless 🙁
thehealthyapron says
Aww your pup is way too cute in that water! Don’t you hate when you pick a sandwich and then regret your decision!? It does look tasty though!
High: Being outside and active for most of it!
Low: having a little too much to drink Friday night (what am I in college) and puking. ICk.
Brittany says
Haha, as much as I love being pregnant because it means no hangovers, I miss the occasional wild night out! I still like to pretend I’m in college 🙂
Anastasia says
Your CSA haul always looks fantastic! There’s such color and variety. That stinks about the sandwich being flavorless because it sounds like it’d be delicious!
My high from the weekend was buying a car (!!!) since mine got totaled out during some really bad hail storms we had here. The low was I can’t pick it up until today, but it’s all good! :]
Kelly says

Mmmmm….ice cream….
And I’m jealous of that little squash! I wish I had that to experiment with. 🙂 [Can’t wait to see what you come up with!]
Melissa @ Be Not Simply Good says
I hope the storm didn’t cause too much trouble for you!
My high was definitely running Ragnar Relay Chicago. It was a total blast! The low would be that I was cold most of the time that I wasn’t running. It was perfect running weather though!
Kate @ NaturaStride says
Haha – Love the ice cream lunch. Looking forward to seeing what you do what that squash!
Weekend High: Impromptu visit to Atlantic City
Weekend Low: Losing money playing craps!

Cute pictures of Koda. Maybe the sandwich just needed slices of tomato & cucumber.
Michelle Luna says
Totally crashing your Debbie Downer party with some sunshine:
All of your lows are actually highs when you look at them from a perspective of spiritual gratitude.
So you had some water in your house, not super fun, but you could have gotten home AFTER the storm hit and your entire first floor was flooded and all your furniture and electreonics were destroyed. So you didn’t know what a squash was, now’s your chance to find a new recipe and potentially delicious dish you now love. So the dog chased off the fish, he was really freakin cute while he was swimming, be happy for him! So the sandwhich wasn’t amazing, Sherry had the right idea, you can just grab a condiment of some sort, even something as simple as chili powder or minced garlic, and jazz it up and totally congratulate yourself on being creative in a pinch (plus it’s a much healthier lunch than an ice cream cone).
You had an awesome fun relaxing weekend that many people don’t get to have. I don’t see any lows in that. 🙂
