Tuesday of a holiday week doesn’t even feel like a Tuesday, does it? I like it 🙂
But I also have to focus a bit more around the holidays on getting my exercise in. Is it just me? I find I get distracted and would rather perfect the garland on my mantle than strap on my running shoes… speaking of… here is the beginning of my Christmas mantle. I am going to replace that garland with real, natural garland, and of course I need stockings… but Squeee! I love Christmas.
Luckily, Koda is usually there to remind me I need to get outside and MOVE…
and on Sunday, she had a ball because a group of us went hiking in the perfect fall weather.
(Say hello to my 5k running group!)
After the hike Sunday, I did not feel like running yesterday, so I decided it would be a perfect time to reintroduce strength training into my life. I’ve missed it lately and can’t use not having a yoga studio nearby as an excuse anymore. So, reluctantly, I came crawling back to Jillian.
Although I get somewhat bored doing videos, I made it through feeling good. My muscles weren’t even shaking and I realized I should probably have done level 2. However, last night my thighs felt whipped… and this morning? SORE. Jillian, you are amazing. I’m sorry I’ve been away for so long.
For some reason I usually don’t have much of a problem staying on track with healthy eating during the holidays, but the exercise thing sometimes falls by the wayside…
What tips do you have for staying on track with exercise during this exciting, magical time of year??

Exercise I can always keep up with. It might not be AS often but otherwise I still keep up regularly. Eating is tougher for me. Usually only the day of the holiday though, so I just go with it. This year may be different though with my food cravings. LOL

Staying on track during this time of the year can be tough but I just tell myself a little bit a day is all I need to do 😉 I also keep telling myself how much better I feel when I am done with the workout and it always works!

I struggle with the eating part because it is in the lounge at work, but I usually display decent will power. Exercise for me does seem to fall by the wayside, but I tell myself there is always tomorrow to get right back on track. Don’t wait til the entire holidays go by without working out.

I might sign up for a race taking place right after Christmas to keep me training and motivated. It will hopefully also help me curb some of the bad eating/drinking habits that can crop up at this time of year.

I’m quite the opposite: I can get in exercise, it’s just the eating that goes!
I dropped the ball on Jillian too, but boy does she kick your butt in 20 minutes! Who knew that pain could happen from a workout dvd?
Beautiful hike photos!

I just try to take each day by day. I try to plan workouts ahead of time and just do my best to follow my workout plan. I do love having jillians 30day shred on hand for those quickie workouts or the times you cannot make it to the gym.

Exercise keeps me sane- and happy- and not yelling- so hence, I make it a priority! 😉
This time of year can be stressful so I just do what makes me feel great- glad that exercise is my cure. 🙂
Wonderful weather for a hike! Love it!

I keep up with my same routine as if it weren’t the holidays! I know it’s easy to get trapped up in getting cozy cause it’s cold outside.. but I have to remind myself.. workout then get cozy 🙂

I guess, even with the holidays approaching, I try to keep a somewhat normal schedule, even on days that I have off. Even if I can sleep in, I still try to leave it at maybe an hour or so longer than normal, get up, eat breakfast, work out, etc. I find this keeps me from falling in to an end of the year slump when it comes to exercise and healthy eating!

Unfortunately, I have no tips. It’s my day off, I took one look at the rainy, cold weather outside and decided that Cardio Kick class was out and a nice day of reading in bed was in. Fail.
Or not!

Your mantle glows beautifully!
I can’t believe it’s Tuesday already. Monday was actually my Friday, but today at home went way too fast. I guess when you spend most of the day on the computer, time flies!
Happy Gobblepalooza!

Staying up with my fitness routine gets tough during the holidays. Between job stuff and family activities,it gets darn near impossible; something has to give sometimes…
