Only 103 days left until we get to meet Baby D! Doesn’t counting down make it feel a whole lot closer?

I’m over 25 weeks along and according to my What to Expect iPhone app, Baby D weighs TWO pounds and is 9.2 inches long. Picture an eggplant… in my abdomen. Wowza.

I’m creeping closer to the third trimester and can start to tell. This past week I’ve noticed a few changes, like little bouts of queasiness and an occasional heart burn episode or two. Nothing crazy, but I’m just noticing a few things that aren’t normal for me.

I’m still getting leg cramps during the night sometimes, and my bladder seems to fill up awfully quickly these days, too. Overall, still feeling pretty good though!

No real cravings to report this week. My Indian food obsession has subsided for the time being, but Mexican cuisine always sounds delicious (that’s totally normal though, as you know if you’re a regular reader :)). I always have in the back of my mind that Baby D can taste what I taste, and it helps keep me motivated to put the best stuff in my body… like last night’s dinner:

Still doing it, y’all!!! Speed walking at varied inclines 3-4 days a week and prenatal yoga once a week. Plus, I’m loving the strength training I’ve added in. It’s helping my arms and legs feel more toned. I also love the smiles I get from people at the gym. I’ve even gotten a few ‘good for you!’s and it encourages me to keep going.

I did hit a bump in the road a few days ago when my legs just constantly felt fatigued. I talked to my yoga teacher and she encouraged me to give myself a break and take some extra rest days. I explained that this wasn’t a concept I took to very well, but she assured me that now is the time to take it easy when I feel I need to. The class she led on Tuesday was not as intense as usual and it felt great. I know it sounds cheesy, but I feel my most beautiful during yoga. Watching my pregnant body stretch, I feel strong and peaceful. I like seeing the muscles in my arms and back flex and my belly rise up and down with my breath.

Weight Gain: 18 pounds. I’m almost back to the highest I’ve ever weighed. Some days I cringe at that fact, but most of the time the number on the scale doesn’t effect me nearly as much as it did when it first started going up. I’m not ashamed to admit how much I’ve put on because I want to be honest with y’all. I think right now I’m on track to gain about 33 pounds total.

It will be that much more fun to work it all back off once Baby D arrives, right?

Nursery: Well, the exciting news is that we got a call that the crib is in! We weren’t expecting it until late August, so I was very surprised. We’re going to wait to get it until we get new carpet upstairs, though, so the search begins for carpet deals! Hubbs got to work on installing a ceiling fan and I cleaned all the junk (AKA Hubbs’ brewing supplies) out of the room. Progress, my friends, progress.

Please notice the BLUE carpet. We also have a PINK carpet and a GREEN carpet room. Now really, must I explain why we’re getting new carpet?

Koda’s Perspective: Completely clueless that there is a baby in there, and just figures Mom has been eating a few too many chips and salsas lately 😉

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Cascade Challenge Winners!! (Chosen by Random.org)
#25 Shannon The first time I used an enameled cast iron dutch oven to braise meat, I was amazed at how tightly bits of sauce and beef stuck to the bottom! I thought the point of braising was that everything gets TENDER… My mom does have trick for cleaning up stuck on food (should your Cascade fail you!), but it has to be a stove top safe dish, like a pot or pan: Add some dish washing liquid (not dish washer detergent) and water to the dirty pot, boil it for a minute or two and let it cool. Most stuck on anything should wipe right out!
#35 stephanie use has to be the baking dish when we bake (skin on) chicken with jerk sauce on it. it ALL sticks to the pan and takes forever and ever to remove. But its delicious
#1 McKayla (green groats) My blender (when I leave it dirty overnight and must try to clean it the next day)…ughhhh.
