1. It’s almost time to start drinking this:
A friend gave me her leftover red raspberry leaf tea after her sweet son arrived and I’m planning on starting to drink it around 35 weeks to help strengthen the muscles of my uterus in preparation for labor. I loved how she gave it to me nicely concealed in an opaque bag so I wouldn’t have to convince the police it really is just tea if I got pulled over!
2. The many uses of scour off.
It’s a non-toxic, natural scouring cleanser that for a while I kept in the kitchen. Lately, I’ve been toting it around the house and using it on everything I can find. I’m a big fan of it’s work, like how it helps hide the fact that I have a dog that likes to scratch her dirty paws at the back door to be let in. And I thought that grime was baked in there for good.
3. Cashews grow like this:
After reading this article and watching this video I now have a better understanding of their expensive price tag. FYI- the are much cheaper when bought from bulk bins.
4. How many people love Bravado Designs Nursing gear.
With Hailey, I used nursing bras from Target. They got the job done, but this time I was hoping for a little more support and maybe even a design that made me feel a little more feminine and less like a milk cow. Well, how is this for feminine:
Woo wheee, hot mama! I am excited to partner up with Bravado Designs as I enter this new breastfeeding adventure in a few weeks and I’ll report back my honest opinions. Judging by the love my instagram picture received yesterday, I’m pretty certain I’m going to like them. I had no idea so many of you love them already!
5. We only have a mere 6-7 weeks left until we meet our daughter.
Odd picture, I know, but as I was relaxing on the bed last night watching her wiggle and hiccup, the amazement that is growing a child overwhelmed me. HOW IS THERE A PERSON IN ME? I’m feeling really pregnant right now and the pregnancy waddle is in full effect. I met with my chiropractor yesterday just to pick his brain about getting baby to go head down. The consensus is we are giving her a few more weeks before considering any alignment treatments. We both think she has plenty of room to wiggle. We shall see!
Anything blowing your mind recently?

Definitely with you on number 5. TODAY is the day in pregnancy that my water broke with Wyatt so I’ve been on edge all week! Cannot believe our little girls will be here so soon! <3
Brittany Dixon says
Oh my gosh, I can’t imagine water breaking for you today! Feeling any signs of impending labor? Hope not yet! 🙂
Parita @ myinnershakti says
#3 – mind blown. I seriously didn’t know this!
And yay for baby girl being here soon. 🙂
Marjorie says
I drank the Mothers Milk organic tea to help boost my milk supply. It was actually pretty tasty. I had not seen or heard of the raspberry leaf tea!
Oh, the hiccups! I used to love that when Canon would hiccup while I was prego with him. So sweet.
I don’t have much blowing my mind these days! Which means I probably need to get out more.
christina says
Only 6 weeks left!? Ahhh! You guys must be so excited. I can’t wait to see how Hailey is with her. It’ll be adoralble. Totally thought that bag was something else…that probably would not strengthen your muscles but sure would loosen em up hahaha
Brittany Dixon says
Maybe that would actually help more during labor?? 😉
Kelly says
I love Bravado bras! Did you know that you can get conversions kits to make them ‘regular’ bras after you’re finished nursing? Best.thing.ever! Enjoy your new bras!!
Brittany Dixon says
Too cool! I didn’t know that! I’ll have to look into it. Thanks!

The thing that blew my mind yesterday was an American friend posted on their facebook that they finally paid off the hospital bill of the birth of their daughter and she is now 2 years old. I was just taken away at that as I am Canadian so of course our health care takes care of almost all of it (I think very rarely like if you had to take an ambulance to the hospital that is really your only out of pocket cost). I know there are pros and cons to both systems but I just couldn’t believe the price tag there is with having a ‘not so easy’ birth in the states.
Brittany Dixon says
Yes, health care is quite the mess in America! The bills some people are left with are unreal. So crazy!
Ali says
I love bravado! They are so comfy. I’m getting to the end of my breastfeeding journey and have worn the majority of my nursing stuff from Target too. I got a bravado one, but it was always a little big. I would love something more feminine! That one you got is cute!

It was wonderful having you, Hailey, and yet to be named baby girl here for “Momma’s” birthday!
Question, I was very interested in what you had to say about Shaklee supplements. I was particularly interested in the study you showed me about multivitamin absorption rates. Shaklee was number two in this respected study. Where can I find that list. Do you have a link or can you send the info. to me? Thanks. You are one beautiful prego woman!
Brittany Dixon says
Of course! Here is the link (quite impressive!) –> http://www.multivitaminguide.org/
love you!

I have the same problem with my dogs scratching at our back door. Must order Scour Off immediately!
Julie @ Better Life with Burgers says
I have heard a little about red raspberry leaf, but it was always to stay away during those last few weeks! I’m so curious to hear how it works for you! I’m in week 29, just a little behind you. Congratulations on a healthy pregnancy!
Brittany Dixon says
Most of what I’ve heard is to stay away (or limit) it in the beginning, but that taken later on is helpful. I drank it last pregnancy during the third tri and would probably be fine to start it now, but figured I’d hold off until she decides to go head down (fingers crossed!) 😉
Congratulations on getting into the third tri!! Time really will start to fly now 🙂
Maria says
Oh yes, Scour Off! I always forget the name of it and always call it the “Cherry Scrub Stuff”. It’s amazing. I use it the most in my shower (damn that shower) the most and it makes everything just blinding white. I love it. I want to eat it. Literally. I also need to do a follow up post because the laundry booster is also amazing. Even bleach didn’t get my whites this clean. Obsessed. You’ve created a monster.
Look at that cute little bump! How is it only six more weeks? Cannot wait to see the little lady!
Maria says
Oh goodness, I really should proof my comments. Ignore my typos and sentence structure. I really can write like an educated person when I put my mind to it 🙂
Laura @ Mommy Run Fast says
I need to check out those nursing bras… I could definitely use an upgrade this time around! I’m also really intrigued by scour off. And #5, so SO exciting how close you are!
GiselleR says
LOL @ #1. My father is a loose leaf tea fan and when I flew home for Christmas I decided to pick him up a David’s Tea sampler pack at the airport. Then I was scared I’d get stopped every time I sent my bag through a scanner haha
Brittany Dixon says
At least it would have made for a great story, right? Haha! 🙂
Jen says
I’m one week ahead of you, and blowing my mind is that my OB told me today that Baby Girl is about 5.5 or 6 lbs and head down! I’m just so excited, and can’t believe I’m about to have a baby! (It’s my first one, in case you can’t tell.) I’m about to start drinking Raspberry Leaf Tea, myself, but have to make it out to Earth Fare to find it. Good luck!
Ellen says
I got a huge bag from Amazon…Frontier organic brand. You can definitely get a good deal it there.
Brittany Dixon says
Yes, online you can find some great deals- thanks Ellen!
And Jen, congratulations on your first!! It’s so surreal. I’m so excited for you!
Ellen says
Woooo, I’m just about in the “evening primrose” stage…38 weeks next Sunday! So I’ve been in the raspberry leaf stage for a few weeks. If things don’t get moving I may be enticed by the fenugreek stage, something I’ve never used for labor, but some Indian friends swear works.
My mind is blown by the size of the newborn clothes I’m washing at the moment. “Whaaaat? My 2yr old NEVER fit in these, did she??”
Also…Bravado nursing tanks forever! Love them!
Brittany Dixon says
Oh my gosh, newborn clothes look fake to me. I still can’t fathom holding a itty bitty baby again. H is going to feel huge to me!
Congrats on almost being at the finish line! So exciting!! Hope you’re feeling well 🙂
Laura says
Hi! Thanks for the tip on the nursing bra, def doesn’t look big and clunky like some others I have seen. I’m due in 3 wks with #2 and plan to nurse this time around (did not with #1).
Any tips you can share for a first timer?? GL to you! Those last weeks will be flyin by!
Katie Harding says
I am in the market for some new nursing bras so I am totally loving this post, I will be checking the Bravado bras out and will be anxiously awaiting your review, I still have a few months longer than you until my bundle arrives!
Giselle@myhealthyhappyhome says
I had no idea cashews grew like that! So cool! I can’t even believe how fast your pregnancy has gone by!

I use Target nursing bras, but wish I would have seen these earlier on. I’m in this weird stage of not knowing what to wear. And honestly, it’s either my Target nursing bra or a sports bra. I’m a catch! I wish there was a transition bra (because I only nurse Nia a few times a day now) that made me feel like I’m on the way to wearing a normal bra again!)
Munchies and Munchkins says
Raspberry leaf tea is pretty tasty I enjoyed it but over here in the UK we are advised to avoid it until we reach term (37wks) as it can kick start contractions? I remember reading you had some contractions already so you may want to be aware of that.
As for cashews I didn’t know until we went to The Gambia as part of a charity trip. The fruit it’s attached to look bright and juicy but has an odd texture which dries your mouth a little..an acquired taste! The children of the village we stayed in collected the cashews to sell on or trade.
Bravado designs make awesome bras, I’m currently wearing one and have also reviewed on my blog. It’s by far the comfiest bra I’ve ever owned. I need to buy more.
So excited to hear about your baby news, been a mum of two young girls is a whirlwind! X
