Good morning! It’s me, Hailey. Mom is feeling a little off today- sore throat and stuffiness, I believe. So, I decided to give her a break and fill you in on what I’ve been up to.

First, let’s chat about this month’s firsts. I’m now walking while holding onto furniture. “Cruising” is what the adults call it, right? I love walking while pushing my stroller and can stand for a few seconds by myself, but I’m a careful girl and know I fall less while crawling.

I’m also pretty excited that mom finally started styling my hair. She is really into pigtails.

Be nice, she’s learning.

I’m learning to communicate more everyday. I know the “all done” signal and use it when I’m finished eating, when I’m ready for a nap and when I’m ready to do something else. They really need to teach me more words. Until then, I’ll just keep pointing and saying “DA!” (that) at what I want.

I know a few party tricks now, as mom calls them. When they ask me what a cow says, I say moooooo. I can point out mom’s nose, too. I like to whistle and I love blowing raspberries. I laugh at myself when I do because I’m pretty funny.

I love carrying things around and giving them to mom and dad. It’s how I show my appreciation.

I also like feeding them bites of what I’m eating. I just want them to taste how good it is, too! (PS- don’t forget to link up to Munchkin Meals on Thursday!)

Speaking of eating, I like it. I usually have 3 meals and a snack or two if I need them. Mom started me on milk too, but she’ll fill you in on that soon. I’m still nursing two times a day, but I’m not that interested in it anymore. I’d rather eat! I prefer my food to have more flavor to it nowadays. I’ve had Indian food and even homemade black bean burgers with jalapenos. Mom forgot about the jalapenos, but I didn’t flinch. I just gobbled ‘em up.

I’m a happy girl. Grocery shopping is still one of my favorite activities. While mom roams the aisles, I smile and wave at everyone who passes. I laugh hard when dad flips me upside down. I smile and wave to mom in my mirror when we’re riding in the car. Then, there is Koda. For a dog with such a serious face, she slays me!

Sometimes I get grumpy, usually when I’m tired. I let everyone know I’m ready for a snooze with my “I mean business” face.

I go to bed at 7pm and wake up around 7:30-7:45am. I bounce between taking one nap (2.5-3 hours) and two naps (1.5-2 hours each). Though mom prefers a predictable schedule, I’m convincing her to just roll with it.

Bath time is still a lot of fun. I like stick my face in the water to try and blow bubbles. We take a bath every night. I like routine.

I’m pretty attached to mom and dad right now. I prefer them to hold me and don’t like getting passed off to people I don’t know. When we go to the gym, I get pretty sad when mom leaves, but once she’s out of sight, I pull myself together and play with the other kids.

At my 12 month appointment I weighed 19 lbs 11 oz (25th%) and was 29 3/8” tall (50-75%). I got shots and a finger prick, which I did not like. However, I think it was worse on mom than me. I have 4 top teeth and 3 bottom ones. I wear size 4 diapers and 12-18 month clothing.

Oh, and I’m into everything.

I guess the final thing, that I probably don’t need to point out, is that I’ve inherited my mom’s gift for gab. I don’t think I left out a single detail. However, if you have any questions, let’s hear ‘em! I’ll pass them on to mom.
