Welcome to another Munchkin Meals! I can’t believe it’s been 6 months since we started solids. Hailey (now 12 months) is still an adventurous eater, but prefers more flavor in her food now. I also am now more comfortable giving her bigger pieces of food, like apple slices, for her to gnaw on. Other things, like grape tomatoes, I still slice up.

This week, there is no theme, just a typical day of Hailey’s eats. Starting with breakfast.

Organic Toasted Oats, half an organic banana and a Greek yogurt.

Today she ate the Stonyfield organic kids Greek yogurt, but she’s also been sharing my Fage 2% cherry lately. I can’t get enough.

Lunch, for both of us, was leftovers.

"munchkin

Lentil chili. She ate it all and was ready for a snack about 2 hours later.

"munchkin

Applesauce! Earth’s Best organic doesn’t have added sugar, which I like. It’s amazing how many applesauce brands add sugar!

Dinner may look fancy, but it was actually pretty simple.

"munchkin

I already had black beans and brown rice in the fridge from my weekly food prep. I chopped some grape tomatoes and sautéed it all in olive oil with cumin, salt and pepper (flav-ah!). I roasted the asparagus for our dinner and added a few to her plate.

"munchkin

She immediately grabbed and downed the asparagus. As I rejoiced in her love of a new food, she proceeded to throw the next two on the floor. I chopped up the fourth and she downed it unknowingly amid her rice and beans. I love that she still picks out all the tomatoes first. She loves her “red”.

She ate about 75% of dinner and finished up her milk for the day, too.

Your turn!
