This post is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group™ and Huggies, but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #HuggiesSwimmers http://cmp.ly/3/8vNxcO.

Nothing liking starting off a Monday with a sponsored post, right? But don’t click away yet, because I agreed to do this one because I was already using Huggies Little Swimmers, so it felt like a pretty darn natural fit.

In fact, we’re using the heck out of them summer as we hit up either the pool or lake a couple of times each week. Remember when that meant just throwing on your bathing suit and grabbing a towel? Well, times have changed. Now packing for a water-filled excursion takes a suitcase. Here’s a peak into what is in our pool bag!

I always start off with an oversized bag and Hailey’s towel, then stuff it with the following…

Huggies Little Swimmers swim diapers. I didn’t understand swim diapers until I used them. I wondered how they magically didn’t absorb the pool water like regular diapers. Then I realized I’m an idiot and swim diaper don’t absorb #1. They are there to protect from a disastrous #2. (You are welcome for my mature use of proper excretion terms.) Hailey loves the characters on these and they are ridiculously easy to pull on and rip the sides to remove. Love ‘em.

Bathing Suit and Rash Guard. I always leave Hailey in normal clothes until we are actually about to get in the water for the reasons described under the diaper explanation and also so we have a dry outfit ready for later. I like having a bathing suit, but I also always bring a rash guard in case we need stay longer and need extra sun protection.

Hat, Sunscreen and Sunglasses. More sun protection. Being that melanoma runs in my family, I am a bit crazy about sun protection. For Hailey I use all natural, organic sunscreen (California Baby and BabyGanics) free of harsh chemicals, parabens, etc. I also always bring her hat and sunglasses and cross my fingers that she wears them for at least a little bit.

Regular Diapers, Wipes and Clean Up Bags. I always pack wipes (self-explanatory) and regular diapers for when we are done with the pool or cruising around on the boat after swimming. The plastic bags are great to have on hand in case you can’t immediately dispose of a dirty.

Water, Toys and Snacks. Water for hydration and snacks for hunger and, let’s be honest, entertainment. Hailey is really into Larabars right now. She will ask by it for name. ‘LarBar?’ As for toys, red solo cups are great for collecting shells and sand, dumping water on people, stacking AND for pouring cold drinks for mom and dad.

Lifejacket and Puddle Jumper. Being near water means that I’m pretty strict with safety. Hailey isn’t allowed on the dock or boat without having her puddle jumper on first. She usually wears the puddle jumper but sometimes likes to switch things up with her ‘Dor Dor’ life vest.

So there it is. One toddler, one GINORMOUS bag of ‘needs’, but always tons of fun. I’d like to thank Huggies Little Swimmers for sponsoring this post and if you need some swim diapers for your little ones, you can pick them up at Target and use THIS COUPON for $1.50 off.
