I always love reading this post style from bloggers, so when Colleen most recently did a currently rundown herself, I bookmarked it so I could hop on that bandwagon. Friday feels like a good day for this, with random pictures for fun, right?
Current Book: I actually have an answer for once! I joined a group of women through church that meets weekly and this book, Desperate: Hope for the Mom Who Needs to Breathe, was chosen for discussion. I’m really just at the beginning of it, but I can see how it is a Christian-based breath of fresh air for us moms that are struggling to do it all, and trying to do it all well.
Current Music: 95% of the time it’s a Fisher Price music cds or as Hailey says “Hailey music”… and bingo was his name-o!
However sometimes I’ll sneak it to radio and crank up k104.7 (anyone else still listen to good ol fashion radio??) and jam out to a little Honey I’m Good or most recently a little Wilson Phillips. It’s OK, you can sing along. I won’t tell.
Current Guilty Pleasure: Umm… jamming out with the windows down to the aforementioned song.
Current Nail Color: The sad half-grown-out remains of OPI’s bubble bath.
(not my nails… darn it)
Current Drink: Sipping half caff coffee with a splash of half and half.
Current Food: Not eating anything at the moment but I can tell you I’ve seriously LOVED my breakfasts this week. More details in next week’s meal planning post.
Current Favorite Show: Some of the regulars we have on rotation include The Goldbergs, Blackish and The Mindy Project. We like to keep it light! I am itching to dive back into my beloved Nashville, as I think I have 4 or so episodes ready to watch? Will someone add another hour to the day so I can fill it with mindless TV? I kid, I kid… kinda.
Current Wish List: That we lived closer to family. If I hadn’t said it before, I’m insanely jealous of those of you that have family down the street. I’d love nothing more then to host a Sunday night dinner where the whole fam could just swing by for an hour or two. How cool.
On a more superficial level… black booties. I don’t really know how to wear them but these and these are tempting me!
Current Annoyance: Clutter. Does anyone with young kids ever actually have a house where everything has a place and stays there? I have toy carrots, cars and wands all over the place. I promise I try. I try so hard.
Current Celebrity Crush: This should just read: can you name a current celebrity because yeah…. I’m a little out of touch. But for my viewing pleasure…
Apparently I’m in the minority, but I always preferred Chuck over Nate.
Current Indulgence: Flipping through old pictures. <3
Current Blessing: David. In so many ways he is the perfect match for me and I sometimes feel I don’t say it enough how grateful I am for him. Mema and Grandpa- high fives to you for raising such an awesome man. Thank you <3
…now let’s cut through that sap with a throwback picture.
We were such babies (engagement- 2008)… and I was so blonde!
Current Slang: For reals though. …wow, typing that out just sounded really annoying, yet it is something I say. I’ll work on that.
Current Outfit: …like what I’m truly currently wearing? (leggings and an over-sized sweatshirt) or just current outfit I’m loving in general? Because this is my ideal style- pulled together, comfy, casual.
Yet somehow I can never really pull it off and make it look right on me. Anyone care to come over and be my personal stylist? I can pay you in meal planning services. //looks around and wonders why no hands are shooting up//
Current Excitement: My mom coming to visit next week! Halloween! Oh yeah, and obviously FRI-YAY.

Haha! I love that you don’t know how to answer the current celebrity crush question. I feel the same way. When did it stop being appropriate to go with good ol’ George Clooney? 😉
As for my currently: I’m currently wearing a flannel shirt, black skinny jeans, and Chelsea boots – my daily interpretation of casual and pulled together…

Oh you have to watch Nashville! It’s so good! I only have time to watch it when I’m folding laundry or my daughter is napping, so it’s a little segmented but so worth it! And check out the booties from Sole Society – I’m currently lusting after a couple pairs of booties there that may make my Christmas list.

I love looking at old pics of me and Vishnu!
And if you need a new show to watch, I recommend How to Get Away with Murder It’s crazy but entertaining.

I’m loving your clutter comment. Will everything ever find its rightful place again? Still smile watching the kids make the mess. 🙂

Love that outfit! Also, I love listening to normal radio still! It’s all we listen to (for the most part, occasionally we hook up spotify) in the car!

We listen to the radio in the car every day, but have Pandora on at home… most of my stations are really for the kids. They take over everything. 😉 Totally get the clutter annoyance as well. Part of me would love to grab trash bags and just run through the house sweeping piles of stuff into them.

Team Chuck all the way! Happy Friday!

Thank you for the book suggestion! I’m going to head out to grab that this evening!!!
And I’m sure I’m so out of touch with the world with my celebrity crush too. I’m Ryan Reynolds through and through. I can’t even remember the last time I saw a movie or watched a show, so I have no idea who is even out there these days. #momprobs

The only way I can keep the toys in check is to have rotating boxes of toys. He only has a few toys available to him at any given time, so clean up is always straight forward and quick. We get a new box out every week, and it’s heartening to see him rave over toys that he hasn’t seen in a month. He also seems to pay more attention to any one toy when he doesn’t have too many to choose from. YMMV, of course, but this suggestion from another mom saved my sanity!

I always preferred Chuck too! And now with Nashville, I get the hard choices all over again…Team Deacon for the win 🙂

Pottery barn design services are AMAZING! I met with Beth at Northlake Mall (exit 18) and it was totally surpassed my expectations. Beth came to my house, took measurements, etc. about two weeks later I met her at the store and she had full sketches for me. Plus they have everything flagged in the catalog for you too. We walked around the store and she pointed out the pieces they carried in store. Plus no rush to purchase! We had her come out and purchasing in the spring. I can’t wait for her team to come back for other rooms. If you e-mail me I can send you the sketches!

Thanks for posting that music video. It was amazing — haha.
Also, Chuck has so much more sex appeal than Nate. 😉

I love the way you speak about David. It just is refreshing and sweet. Gives me hope for myself one day. <3

I’ve actually used the Pottery Barn interior design services! I would say it’s best to ask for someone who has more experience. We met with one of the managers in the SouthPark mall location and she was amazing. But the girls who came to our house were a little too inexperienced. They gave somewhat good advice, but nothing earth-shattering. We purchased a sectional after the first meeting, but nothing after the second!
