Isn’t it funny how these little blog trends get started? I don’t even know where I first saw this ‘currently’ layout (if you know where they originated, let me know, as I’d love to give credit!), but I thought it would work well for a little Friday catch up session.
Currently watching: not much as far as TV goes, but I do look forward to the fall shows coming back (Helloooooo Nashville!). Much of my time right now is spent watching Kaitlyn grow like a weed.
I know it’s quite the mom thing to do to assert character traits to a baby of only 3 months in age, but y’all, she is going to be a busy one! Homegirl likes to be up, involved and on the go.
Currently listening to: In the car I listen to toddler music 99% of the time. One day I told Hailey I couldn’t hokey pokey one more time and I really needed just a minute of mommy music and switched it to the local pop station. The first song on was this one:
Now every time we get in the car she asks for the ‘bass bass’ song. Can you blame her? So catchy!!
Currently thinking about: cameras. After many dates with rice, the vacuum cleaners and careful hands, we’ve pronounced my camera officially shot (I know, I’m pretty punny!). I truly use it everyday, multiple times a day, so I’m going to bite the bullet and buy one so all my food pictures won’t be doomed to look like this one from last night’s dinner. Happy early birthday to me!
Currently trying to figure out: what to do with my hair. I’m returning to WCCB next week for my first post-baby TV segment, and though I’m WAY excited about seeing the crew, I am clueless what to do with the mop currently on my head. It’s long, wild and thick y’all. Can I just put it in a ponytail and call it a day?
I did, however, find a new dress I’m considering wearing… thoughts?
Currently looking forward to: FALL. Hailey’s birthday is coming up soon, followed by mine, followed hopefully by cooler weather, a great Gurley, ahem, I mean, Georgia football season and fun fall activities.
Currently reading: Your awesome responses to yesterday’s Munchkin Meals post. I seriously appreciate the feedback! See, on this side of the computer I really don’t know how you feel about what I put out there unless you comment or email me, so I really love a little heads up sometimes on what you are liking or not. Munchkin Meals will continue and will include baby and toddler (preschooler?!) eats!
Also reading camera reviews and 27 of the most delicious things you can do with vegetables.
Currently making me happy: The bags of little girl clothes a friend dropped off to me yesterday.
My uncanny ability to pick out perfect avocados.
And, as always, hanging out with my girls.
What is CURRENTLY going on in your life?
Sherry says
You make that dress look fabulous!
Would love to be able to pick out pumpkins at the farm with you & the girls–FUN!
Liz @ I Heart Vegetables says
The girls are getting so big!!! And I need your avocado skills. I struggle getting them ripe enough (or I wait too long haha)
That’s exciting that your TV segment is starting up again soon!! You’ll be great! (Ponytails are chic anyway!) 🙂

Currently…my son turns TWO today!!! And I am all teary-eyed and sentimental about it.
Currently… I am learning to properly use the DSLR camera I have had for months now (Nikon D3100). Now that I understand how it works, I am wanting a prime lens to help improve my food photography.
I love watching your WCCB segments (online when you post them) even though I do not live in CLT. And that dress is super cute. Thumbs up!

A happy happy birthday to your little man! It just keeps getting better, I promise 🙂
And your food pics have looked awesome lately. Teach me your ways!

Currently I’m loving the chilly fall weather here in Minneapolis today, obsessing about my sea salt caramel latte, feeling relaxed after my early morning OrangeTheory class today, and loving listening to my two-year old talk (he’s got every Thomas book/show he’s seen memorized and it’s pretty entertaining to hear him tell me all about it in his tiny voice), and really excited that it’s Friday!
That dress is super cute! I don’t have any hair ideas (I can barely style my own mop) but I wouldn’t worry too much. I haven’t managed to watch one of your segments yet, I’ll have to try this time!

I’m so jealous you had chilly fall weather today! It is hot and humid here and though I hate to rush things, I’m OVER summer. I think 😉
Monica says
I’m ALWAYS over summer. I could never survive in the heat down there! Autumn is my favorite. I wish it could last forever!
Erica { EricaDHouse.com } says
Oh man that first pic of Kaitlyn made me LOL – she’s such a happy baby! Love the stripped dress.
Kathy says
Love the dress! Looks great on you.. I hope you bought it. 🙂 Have a great weekend!

That dress is really cute! Where is it from?
Brittany Dixon says
Banana Republic! And on sale too- wahoo!
Monica says
Love your blog! Wondering how old sweet Haliey was when Kaitlyn was born? I am starting to think about baby number two (my son will be 2 at the end October) and find myself asking myself when the right time is…
Brittany Dixon says
Not sure if there is such thing as perfect timing, but I really love the gap between our girls so far. They are 2 years and 9 months apart. I feel like it worked for us because Hailey was old enough to understand, fairly independent and excited to help. Good luck to you! 🙂

That striped dress is super cute!!!

LOVE the dress! What is the avocado secret??! I heard that being able to easily pick the stem off was a sign it was ripe but that has been failing me lately!
Brittany Dixon says
I wish I could explain my ‘secret’ but it’s all in the feel. You don’t want it hard or soft, just so it slightly gives when gently squeezed. Also, I’ve heard if you push the stem in, you want the same feel- for it to give a little but not totally squish in. Great explanation, huh? Sorry! I tried!

Currently up reading this (and a new blog I discovered about surprising things about parenting around the world) at past 3am having just fed my 10 months old daughter who decided to interrupt mommy’s sleep 🙂 luckily this doesn’t happen often!!!
Your girls are beautiful and that dress is stunning
Marnie @ SuperSmartMama says
I love Currently posts! I can also relate to thick and wild hair…embrace the wave/curl!
I’m currently on vacation, so my posts have been mostly photos and few words. I’d love to hear what cameras you are thinking about for your birthday….
Matt @ Runner Savvy says
Let me know what camera you get! I need a new one.

Is that from Harvesting Kale blog maybe?
