I\u2019ve been out of town for 17 of the 30 days so far in July. That\u2019s just crazy. However, at least that explains why I\u2019ve felt all over the place and less than organized. I\u2019m not complaining; I\u2019ve had some great times this month and seen some beautiful places!<\/p>\n

Now, we\u2019re home and trying to settle back in. Though I dread the giant pile of laundry awaiting me, one thing I don\u2019t mind is an empty fridge.<\/p>\n

I thoroughly enjoy starting from scratch and loading up on fresh foods to help get our healthy eating back on track. Yesterday Hailey and I hit up the farmers market and Harris Teeter with a plan. We executed is flawlessly.<\/p>\n

From the farmers market, we stocked up on produce. Zucchini (extra for zucchini bread, okra for roasting, grape tomatoes, figs for Hailey<\/a>, bell peppers, avocados, onions and cucumber. All for $22. <3<\/p>\n

The grocery store was necessary for a bit more produce: cherries (on sale!), lots of romaine (it\u2019s salad week here at the Dixon\u2019s!), baby spinach and carrots.<\/p>\n

The dairy\/other section included cottage cheese, Greek yogurt (Fage was on sale), feta, cheddar, sour cream, guac (love the individual packets!) and a new type of hummus to try (cheaper than my beloved Sabra!).<\/p>\n

Then, there was the protein section. This week\u2019s menu is full of good eats, including chicken, shrimp, salmon and steak. We\u2019re living high on the hog this week, for sure!  Additionally, I picked up black beans, tuna fish and eggs.<\/p>\n

We picked up some other necessities, like bagels, Happy Baby Puffs,  Newman\u2019s Caesar dressing and Mexi corn. Then, of course, there was the obligatory fun item.<\/p>\n

Even since I saw this spray olive oil at my mom\u2019s house, I wanted it, and Christmas just couldn\u2019t come soon enough, darn it \"Winking<\/p>\n

Now I sit with a full fridge and a week full of healthy at home meals for a grand total of $128.03<\/strong>. Considering this will cover all our meals (minus David\u2019s lunches) through Saturday, I\u2019m quite proud of that number.<\/p>\n

What are your weekly staples?<\/strong><\/p>\n

You can always fine eggs, hummus, carrots, onions and peppers in my cart each week no matter what is on the menu!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
