Sorry for the delayed post this morning… it’s been quite a busy week. I’m not complaining though 🙂
I spent this morning testing a few people’s metabolisms and it’s awesome to know I’m in the right field because every time I get to meet with clients I get so excited!
Most people aren’t sure of the process, so I thought I’d share on here in case any locals want to have it done!
Please enjoy the pictures featuring my handsome Hubbs 😉
1) First, there is the obligatory paperwork. I need to know about your lifestyle and current health habits.
2) I’ll explain the scuba-like experience of the metabolic test and confirm that you haven’t had any caffeine, food or drink (besides water) in the last 4 hours. I’ll also make sure you haven’t exercised that day yet either. This helps make sure we are testing your true resting metabolic rate.
3) You get hooked up to the machine! It’s an easy 10 minute test.
During the test, you can watch the screen to see how each breath is measured.
4) After the test, you can wipe your drool (Drool?? Yes, it can happen ;)) while I enter your lifestyle information into the program. Then I print your results and we go over them together. (Below: 1 of the 4 pages you receive)
5) After answering your questions, going over your results and explaining your action plan, I set you up with an online nutritional tracking system and throw in 1 month of nutritional monitoring by a certified health coach (yours truly!) This way we can work together to guarantee you the results you’re after.
So I’m curious… does a program like this appeal to you? Why or why not?
Karla says
YES! This program does appeal to me because I often think that people (myself!!!) either under or overestimate their metabolism. Then, they are either under or over eating. I mean, I bet there are tons of “healthy eaters” out there that could/should eat way more to be truly “healthy”. I would love the chance to do something like this!
Kelly says
Yeah, I think it’s interesting to know more about how your body works. I even checked my health insurance plan to see if they cover the test, but sadly, they do not.

I would LOVE to have this done to me! It is so interesting!
Maria @ Oh Healthy Day says
Yes, please! Not that I need to lose or gain any weight, but I’m always curious to learn about myself. I took the spit 23 and me genetic testing and I’m fascinated over it – so this is right up my alley as well!

I would love to take a test like that. My life is ruled by numbers as I am an insulin dependent diabetic – it would be interesting to see those numbers as well!
Corey @ the runner's cookie says
I would love to do something like that! I think it would provide me with some really valuable information. I’d love to learn more about my body and how I can best keep it healthy and fuel it for exercise.
I bet you are great with your clients 🙂

Wow, that is pretty cool!! I think it would definitely be helpful for people not knowing why they aren’t able to the lose the weight they want or maybe someone who HAS to lose weight because of some sort of health issues. I wouldn’t mind seeing where mine is at either!
Samantha @ Health, Happiness & Skinny Jeans says
I would love to get tested for this to see if I am on track for maintaining a healthy weight while I am training. Very neat!

I would love to have a test like this done, if nothing else just to learn more about my own body. Very cool that you are able to do that!
Alyssa @ Life of bLyss says
MAN, I’d love to do this test. I love learning more about my body and how it works, so that really appeals to me.
Melissa says
I totally want to have this done! Not so sure I like the drooling part.
Tori @ FIToriBLOG.com says
SOO appealing! I think w/ diet everyone wonders….am I normal? Are my hormones and thyroid normal? Is my metabolism normal? And, finding out takes out some of the excuses and is great for success w/ a program!
Love your blog!!!
Alexis @ There She Goes says
This seems so weird!
