I am so overwhelmed by all the love from yesterday! Each and every one of your comments, tweets, emails, texts, etc just melted my heart. Thank you so much for your kind words, excitement and well wishes- they mean the world to me!
…and phew, am I glad the news is OUT! Do you know how hard it is to blog about healthy living with all I wanted for a few weeks were bagels and cream cheese and the thought of broccoli made me want to gag? It’s hard 🙂
The blog won’t turn into all baby talk – promise! – but this week may be dedicated to some of the changes that have happened lately, but first, let me answer the most asked questions…
How far along are you?
As of yesterday, I am 15 weeks pregnant with Baby D (Baby Dixon). We had a doctor appointment yesterday and heard the heard pounding away at 144 beats per minute. It’s the sweetest sound I’ll ever hear.
This puts my due date at September 6. Whew- summer is going to be a hot one!
Where you trying?
This little guy or girl was a wonderful surprise! So in short, no, we were not actively trying. In fact, we had just decided to wait one more year before giving it a go, but God had other plans. We always knew we wanted kids, and once I finally believed the pregnancy tests (which took a loooong time), we couldn’t be more excited!
When did you find out?
I have been keeping Baby D a secret for THREE MONTHS! I found out on December 29. Why did I test? Looking back, I’m not quite sure. I just kept feeling extremely tired- even in the middle of the day- which is unlike my usual, energetic self. I’ll tell the whole story on another post 🙂
Do you know if Baby D is a he or she?
No, we don’t know yet, though I’ve been feeling boy all along. We will be finding out in three weeks, however, we plan to keep it a secret until he/she is born… wish me luck! 🙂
*************************************
I’m just so excited about it all, that this week will be baby week on the blog! I’ll fill you in about the changes in eating and exercising I’ve experienced (it’s been wacky!), and tell you the story of the day I found out I was pregnant, too.
Thank you again SO MUCH for all your kind words and support… what an adventure!
Any other pregnancy/baby questions you’d like me to answer?

I also don’t mind if it turns into baby talk for a while. It’s a major part of your life and I think talking about a healthy pregnancy would be very interesting/entertaining. I’ll be excited when finding out if Baby D is a girl or boy!

Congrats on the baby. What wonderful news. I don’t mind a little baby talk. It would be great to hear how you are keeping healthy throughout the pregnancy.

I wouldn’t care if all you did was talk about baby, I can totally relate and would love to join in all topics baby!!
I can relate on taking numerous amounts of tests on pregnancy#1 for me! The first pregnancy was a complete suprise for us too….we had just moved to TX and were in the process of getting jobs and settling in a new state….I had to decide if I was going to get COBRA from my past job or if I was going to get an independent insurance until I was eligible for my new jobs insurance. For some reason, I had this *feeling* that it could be a possiblity that I was preggo. I bought a test without the hubby knowing and told him that I wanted to take a test just to make sure so I could get the right coverage. So I took the test in the middle of the day and it was positive (but a faint positive). My hubby didn’t believe it, he said it had to be wrong. I should have known back then that there isn’t a false positive at all. So I took it the next morning and it was even more positive. My hubby and I started to believe it but I think the next few days, I still took ANOTHER one. ha!

Yay! You told! Now I can’t wait to hear about all of the details of your pregnancy. 🙂 Congratulations again! I bet it is a boy if you think it is. The doctor thought I was a boy (back before ultrasounds could tell those kind of things) and my mom just knew I was a girl, despite the fact that I was carried like a boy. Mother’s intution is pretty accurate! 🙂

No questions! Just excited to hear about the journey!!

I think the momma’s gut is usually right with the sex. I was on both of mine. And….that’s just mean to keep it a secret! 🙁

Congratulations, Brittany!! So exciting! I’m looking forward to reading about your adventure in the coming months! And it’s 100% okay with me if you make “mommy talk” in every post. 🙂

Hey! I’m trying to catch up on all of this (Spring Break has put me behind on blogland updates), but once again, I am SO happy for y’all…and I don’t know why, but I’m feeling like it’s a boy. I just see you being a great mama for a little boy.
[Not that you wouldn’t be a good mama for a little girl, but I tend to think of myself as a better “boy mom” so it’s just a weird feeling..]
