The Sailor Man would have been proud with the amount of spinach I snuck in throughout the day yesterday…
Breakfast
I was in need of something filling and comforting, and this hit the spot! It’s half of a Thomas’ Whole Wheat bagel with 2 Tbsp of JIF Natural Peanut Butter, half of a banana and a solid sprinkling of Chia seeds. Gotta love getting in some omega-3s with breakfast!
*Also, I had 1 cup of orange juice, which is unpictured because my sweet Hubbs brought it to me while I was still in bed. Sometimes my blood sugar is a little low in the mornings if I sleep for a while, and OJ helps give me a boost. Oh pregnancy…

Lunch started with leftover Zucchini, Basil and Shrimp Pasta (recipe to come!), which I heated up over a bed of spinach before mixing it all together.
Plus, a hummus snack plate with a few Juice Plus Gummies on the side!

Afternoon Snackage
True to form, I snacked throughout the afternoon…
Self explanatory above, followed by a simple egg salad, which I made up as I went along. 2 boiled DHA eggs, celery, 1/2 Tbsp Smart Balance light mayo, mustard and a cut up dill pickle slice… served on spinach, of course.
Then, there was more hummus. Creamy Sabra, you sucker me in every time!

Dinner
We really do eat a lot of (homemade) pizza, and last night the craving struck again! Started off with a simple spinach salad with tomato, feta, kalamata olives, onions and Newman’s Light Balsamic…
And ended with homemade veggie pizza, made with a new New York Styles crust recipe I tried out, topped with broccoli, spinach, roasted garlic, onions, peppers and fresh mozzarella. I had 2 slices.

I’d like to have protein be a higher percentage of my calorie total, especially with all the brain development going on with Baby D this week, but overall, I’m happy with yesterday’s eats 🙂
Best thing you ate yesterday?
I’m always looking for new ideas 🙂

All of your meals looks so yummy and I think it is great how you snuck in those Spinach into all your meals. So creative 🙂
The best thing I ate: Whole wheat pasta with Oysters, sun dried tomatoes, garlic and fresh basil. Topped with 55g of shredded cheese (you can use whatever cheese you want to.)

The Popeye thing is very typical for me. In fact, the best thing I ate yesterday was a shrimp dish that included spinach (recipe posted this morning).

I’m always so impressed by your healthy eats. Spinach and bananas still make me gag badly, so Popeye would not be proud of me!
And of course, now I want popcorn. I seriously can’t make it through any food blog posts without wanting to eat one of the pictures featured!
Samantha @ Health, Happiness & Skinny Jeans says

All your food looks pretty good to me right now. 🙂
I LOVE homemade pizza and wonder if I’m the only one that makes it a lot. Glad to know I’m not.

I’m a fan of pizza, too (but I wasn’t really before pregnancy).
Yesterday, I’d say the best thing I ate was Veganomicon’s Snobby Joes. I’ve been eating a lot of that stuff- I love it!

Best thing I ate yesterday… My appetite was all over the place because I’ve got a little allergies or cold or something. Probably the best thing was some Shanghai Cucumbers from PF Changs. Delicious salt bomb.
Lauren says
Hummus gets me every time too. I can’t believe there’s people out there who don’t like it!! Your lunch looks great. I’m a huge shrimp fan. The best thing I ate yesterday was either a giant Greek salad or my standard overnight oats with fruit, coffee cake and peanut butter on top. Mmmmm.
Maria says
That pizza looks amazing!
The best thing I had yesterday was some flank steak. I know. I know: I eat like a man.

Your going to have the healthiest baby ever 🙂 The spinach is definitely super good for it! The best thing I ate yesterday was a pasta dish at a restaurant that was grilled chicken, roma tomatoes, roasted red peppers in a red cream sauce. SO GOOD! and a bit indulgent 😉
Rachel says
Last night must have been a pizza night.. I saw it on KERF and had to make it. I took pics for the blog, but the stupid memory card wasn’t in it AGAIN. I hate then I do that 🙁
I also put spinach on my pizza, first time 🙂

Best thing I ate yesterday was a cookie from a catered meeting. Not the best thing for me, but I didn’t eat all the bread from my sandwich so thought I deserved it!
