Mmm, mmm, I love an easy weeknight dinner that is hearty enough to satisfy the hungriest sports’ night practice appetites. These slow cooker sloppy joes take only 8 ingredients and 8 minutes of prep work to make. Spoon them up on a ciabatta roll or a hamburger bun with a leafy green on the side (or just pickles) to balance it out.
I kept this recipe streamlined and simple, but feel free to jazz it up however you wish. You can dice the traditional green bell pepper and add it in or finely dice a jalapeno to give it a kick. Mix up your meat and try ground turkey or ground chicken for a leaner dish. Serve it over rice if buns feel too messy. This classic recipe is very forgiving, so make it your own!
I highly recommend using the Instant Dutch Oven for these slow cooker sloppy joes, which allows you to sauté the onions and brown meat in a single pot before switching to slow cook. Only one pot to clean makes it even more of a sanity savor on those busy “gotta get dinner on the table fast” nights.
This meal also work well for the night where everyone needs to eat in shifts, as the Instant Dutch Oven will switch to “keep warm” so dinner is ready and waiting whenever the hungry recipient is ready. I hope you enjoy!

I’m on a roll with your slow cooker recipes!! I made this one with 85/15 ground turkey as we don’t do a lot of beef-and it was delicious!! The entire family enjoyed. I added a tad more ketchup to the crockpot when I put it all in because it looked a little “dry” (probably Turkey vs beef). Thank you for all the great crockpot recipes!

Of course!! I am so thankful you take the time to photograph them and share them! It makes my meal planning easier when I know I can trust the source and it isn’t a random person with different tastes, confusing directions, or false claims about time or ease, lol. I will keep rating away!
