My my, what a full week! It blows my mind how quickly our weeks fly by, despite some moments feeling like they take forever. For example? I spent Wednesday morning in traffic court (for an expired tag AND licence for those that are under any pretense that I have my life all together). And wait, let me rephrase that– in traffic court with a 4 year old AND an 1 year old. It was about as fun as it sounds and though my tickets got tossed out, it is a lesson I will not forget. Watch those expiration dates friends!
Wow, how is that for a tangent to start the weekend?! Let’s get to it–
I had to do an entire posts of favorites just so I could tell you about this one life-changing item. And no, it is not an exaggeration.
The Wet Brush — If you have a child that is a girl, have a friend that is pregnant with a girl, are a girl yourself or, shoot, know a boy with hair longer than 1 inch long, you need this in your life. It’s less than $10 and will make it so you never have to hear the words ouuuuuuch that hurts! ever again. I don’t know how it does this witchcraft, but this brush will gently straighten out the craziest of tangles like it ain’t no thang. I even use it on my hair.
Just go check out the reviews. Life. Changing.
The only possible way I can follow up sharing my love for that brush is to share a much more meaningful cause with you.
Moms in Training. My friend, Jenny, is a member of the Leadership Team for a program called Moms in Training. The program is in conjunction with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and if you live locally, you need to know about this awesome program/opportunity!
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Moms In Training (MIT) program launches April 2nd at The Childrenβs Theater of Charlotte. MIT is a social, flexible 10-week fitness program for moms with over 10 workout locations across the Charlotte area (offered on weekday & weekend mornings). The program caters to moms of all fitness levels (walking/running/stroller-friendly workouts) and culminates with the opportunity to complete a local 5K run/walk on June 11th (kid/stroller friendly)!
Take a look at this must watch 4-minute video to see what’s inspired over 2,500 moms to raise over $3 million in the fight against cancer! For more info. on the program, visit their facebook page.
I Need My Monster. I’m sure I’ve mentioned it before, but Storyline Online is a really great site, sponsored by the Screen Actors Guild, where celebrities read books to children. Hailey loves it and finds them very entertaining. Recently we watched one together where the book was called I Need My Monster.
It’s a really cute, non-scary, story that both Hailey and I really enjoyed. It’s a good length (so important, right?!) and gives the opportunity to do a lot of different voices for the different monsters. It’s a great one to gift a child!
This marinade. I used it yesterday on a pork tenderloin, then baked the tenderloin at 400 for about 30 minutes. It turned out so flavorful and juicy that I’ll definitely being doing it again!
The girls devoured it too, which is always a win, and asked for more. Try it!
This is my life.
Cute Workout Gear. It took me a really long time to get behind the idea of buying cute workout gear. I’m not sure why, since I wear it a minimum of 4 days a week, but now I totally get it. It makes working out much more fun but it also translates better into wearing it for the rest of the day (ha, because you know I do). I love my Lululemon crops and recently I’ve really taken too the fun patterns and styles that Fabletics (affiliate link)offers.
I’ve also been embracing fun legging patterns, which are totally out of my comfort zone. However Lulu, Prana and Fabletics are the only lines I’ve found that make my legs feel “held in” (if that makes any sense?), so I don’t mind branching out a little with those brand and Fabletics has the best prices of the bunch!

Omg, I want that book. A book that is calles I need my monster?!? Must be adorable! π
Foodwise, I’m absolutely loving tempeh – I could eat it everyday. Otherwise, I’m starting to get really excited for some shopping I’m about to do for my spring/summer capsule wardrobe.
And the weather – finally, it’s getting sunny and warmer here in Southern Germany. Or so I hope – because we did have snow on Wednesday, so who knows…
Have a great weekend!

Oh my gosh – the wet brush. YES! I have been obsessed with that (for my own hair) ever since I discovered it while wearing hair extensions when I was a professional dancer. It’s seriously the best!
Katharine Newman says
My mom certainly could have used that brush when I was little. I hated having my hair brushed!
I love the work out clothes. I rarely buy any, but I do think they make me more excited to work out.
Heather says
Yes to the wet brush!!! My daughter’s hair tangles so easily and it’s amazing how well this brush works!
Loving the cute workout wear too… maybe if I bought some new gear that fit well and supported I’d feel more motivated. π

Do you read To Travel and Beyond, Soup of the Day and The Free & Wild Blog? They’re fantastic!!
Ashley says
Wet Brush is our jam over here – though Emily still acts like it hurts when it makes any noise! Such a drama queen. FYI – they make a travel size one that I like even better bc it doesn’t make any sound when it hits a tangle (translating into less drama for me…)
With Fabletics, is it subscription only?
Hilary says
I love your new workout gear! I have been trying to slowly increase mine, and get cuter workout gear instead of wearing my old soccer shirts form my soccer days, but its a work in progress!

Thanks for sharing that link to the books being read aloud. I haven’t heard of that. I noticed that “A Kissing Hand” is on there. One of my SILs got it for Wyatt this past year and we love it, in case you haven’t already read it. It brings tears to my eyes every time I read it. Have a great weekend!

Umm let’s talk about he wet brush. Most incredible thing ever invented??? Yeah, maybe! I discovered it LAST WEEK while getting my hair cut at Ulta. I told the stylist I have a four year old with hair that I don’t know how to deal with. She suggested it and now I can’t stop using it either. That thing is magical. It turned a screaming after bath battle into something enjoyable and my husband ha actually been doing it! He said to me that he actually really enjoys sitting with her and brushing her hair out before bed which just put my heart into a puddle.
Alyssa @ renaissancerunnergirl says
That hairbrush is genius! I love the workout outfit too. I plan to invest in a few new workout pieces this spring, just waiting for it to warm up for good (it’s been 50s/60s in NYC but supposed to snow Sunday during my half marathon…) so I can wear them comfortably π

Love the wet hair brush! My stylist introduced it to me last fall and it is amazing! I’m loving March Madness right now and a napping child! Haha.
Brittany says
I swear by the wet brush too!! With my crazy hair it is a MUST! Serious mom props for taking the girls to traffic court! Taking both kids to the grocery gives me hives… Ha! So glad your ticket got thrown out!! Thanks for the love girl!
Chantal says
I NEED that brush! Buying now!
Mary @ Fit and Fed says
Quite a feat surviving traffic court with your crew tagging along! The wet brush sounds like a pretty important tool if you have a little girl (or long-haired boy).

I made the chicken for dinner tonight and it was SO SO good!!! We loved it. Definitely a keeper! The sauce poured over it was a must. I also ordered the brush. It seems I am always have hair tangle problems with my granddaughters when they come to visit. Can’t wait to try it on them. I also bookmarked Storyline Online. I Need My Monster is so adorable but I made myself quit watching it so I could share it with the next grandchildren that stops by. Thank you Brittany!
Brittany Dixon says
I’m so glad you liked the chicken! Thanks for reporting back π And just wait until you get to use the brush— life changing I tell ya π
