What Fruit are you? The size of Swiss Chard- how is that for a visual? Baby girl now weighs around 6 1/3 lb and is around 19 inches long, according to BabyCenter.
Due date: May 9, 2014 and still measuring right on track. She also was still head down at the last appointment. I’m hoping it’s late enough in pregnancy now that she stays that way!
How far along: 37 weeks
Gender: Baby girl! (with a name and everything!)
Total weight gain/loss: Well, I went up to 30 lbs, then lost 2 in the past couple days so I’m still at 28.
Exercise: Up until the last 3 days, I had a good streak going at the gym. I’d go about every other day and workouts looked like 30 minutes on the elliptical or 3.5 mile bike ride or kettle bell workout and walking. Nothing very intense, but moving is good, right?
Stretch marks: Nada.
Swelling: Nothing lately.
Belly button: Oh, it’s out. And proud.
Sleep: Whomp whoomp whooooomp. I knew it was bound to happen. Sleep isn’t great. After sleeping like a CHAMP through this pregnancy, the last week has gone down hill. I wake up 3-4 times to use the bathroom or just to stare at the clock. I take it as a sign that baby girl is moving down (a good sign!) and preparation for what is to come. I’m still so grateful I slept so well for so long.
Food cravings: Carbs. Pasta mostly. However, I’m still feeling rather apathetic towards food.
Symptoms: Alright, you ready for this?!
Hips- achy as can be.
Cramps- low and constant.
Occasional lightning pains.
Lower back pulling.
Occasional nausea.
Fatigue- Naps are almost an everyday occurrence right now.
A hot spot on the top of my belly, under my right ribs. I think she sticks her little bottom there and it squishes a nerve. So strange!
Blood pressure: 104/62. Baby girl’s heartbeat: 130’s to low 140’s. My progress: about 50% effaced at 36 weeks and Strep B negative!
What I miss: My energy! Not feeling so large and in charge. Sleep. Wine. Let’s just say I’m getting more and more excited to hold baby girl in my arms instead of in my belly. However, I’ve heard several heartbreaking stories lately and I’m keeping in perspective how grateful I am for this opportunity to bring our baby into the world. I’m really praying for a smooth delivery and healthy baby.
What I’m loving: Baby girl is the hiccup queen! She gets them several times each day. I’ve enjoyed wondering what she will look like and what her personality will be. I enjoy imagining her bond with Hailey. Speaking of, Hailey is still being exceptionally cute, insisting of giving baby sister hugs and kisses when she gives some to me.
What I’m looking forward to: The main event! I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t ready now, but really I’d love for her to wait until at least 39 weeks. Buuuuuut I’m finally putting together my hospital bag just in case.
For fun: 38 Weeks with Hailey and a huge congrats to Linz and Jen and Erin on the arrival of their sweet babies!
Have a great weekend!

You’re getting so close!!!! 🙂 Sorry to hear you’ve started to not sleep well. I guess it’s true what they say about baby getting you ready for the up-and-down nights when she gets here. I’m very inspired by your continued activity this late in the game!

You look great! Oh the hiccups! I loved those. One day after my son was born he got the hiccups. In a fog of postpartum hormones I am sure, I started boo-hooing because I knew I’d never feel his hiccups inside of me again. Sounds crazy now!
You are in the home stretch! I can’t wait to see and read about baby girl!

Nia had the hiccups multiple times a day in late pregnancy and I LOVED it. It was so cute, and continue even out of the womb, where she would do it at least once a day for a few months there! I’m seriously excited to see when this baby decides to come – and to hear the name!!!!

I had that same hot spot right at the bottom of my chest during the last two months of my pregnancy! I honestly was worried I’d never get feeling back there! Fortunately it returned within a few hours if giving birth. Glad you are feeling well and everything is on track!

Ahhh! It’s so close. I’m so “ready” too. My c-section is scheduled for May 5 (May 9) due date but as soon as I hit 37 weeks- the so called “full-term” spot, I was ready for her to come out. So what do you have packed in your hospital bag this time around?
